To Add a Bookmark: Hold ‘REC’ button for 2-3 seconds while a song is playing or
select "(Add Current)" from Bookmark Navigator at the time you want to Bookmark.
(Bookmarks can be saved for up to 20 tracks)
To Play a Bookmark: Choose the Bookmark that you would like to play from the Bookmark Navigator and select "Play Now"
To Delete a Bookmark: Choose the Bookmark that you would like to delete from Bookmark Navigator and select "Remove". To delete all Bookmarks select "Remove All"
To use Bookmark Navigator: Press the "MENU" button, then press "MODE" button to enter "Navigator Mode". Select "Bookmarks" from Music Files / Dynamic PlayList / Bookmark

Song Order settings will be applied after rebooting
Song Orders File Name uses Long File Name rather than current DOS File Name, hence the order will be more accurate than before but boot time can be a little slower

   [ Warning/Caution ]

The firmware update must be performed in 'Recovery Mode' when updating from previous firmware (ver. 1.15 or lower) to the current firmware (ver. 1.20 or higher). The same rule applies to firmware downgrade when rolling back from the current firmware (ver. 1.20) to an older firmware (ver. 1.15 or lower).

Before installing new firmware, existing firmware setup must be removed from the PC if installed before. There are 2 ways to remove existing firmware from the PC:
Click 'Control Panel' -> 'Add/Remove programs' -> 'Remove' button of 'COWON iAUDIO 5 Digital Audio Player' OR Run 'Start' -> 'All Programs' -> 'Cowon' -> 'iAUDIO 5' -> 'Uninstaller'

   [ How to update firmware in 'Recovery Mode' ]

The firmware update must be performed in 'Recovery Mode' when updating from previous firmware (ver. 1.15 or lower) to the current firmware (ver. 1.20 or higher). The same rule applies to firmware downgrade when rolling back from the current firmware (ver. 1.20 or higher) to an older firmware (ver. 1.15 or lower).

If not in 'Recovery mode', update will be failed with the following error message:
'Please use 'Recovery mode' to install new firmware! Please visit http://www.cowonglobal.com for more detail'

Installation steps

1. Download iAUDIO 4 firmware installation file.

2. Unzip the installation file and execute 'Setup.exe'.

3. Click 'Agree' -> 'Next' -> 'Finish' installing Firmware update program by following the instruction from the installation wizard.

4. 'Start' -> 'All Programs' -> 'Cowon' -> 'iAUDIO 4' -> 'Firmware Download'

5. Remove the battery from the iAUDIO 4. While holding down the 'PLAY' button, plug in the USB cable to Connect the iAUDIO 4 to a PC.


6. Keep holding down the 'PLAY' button until the 'New hardware found' wizard begins. You can release the 'PLAY' button after the computer recognizes the iAUDIO 4 Recovery Mode device.

7. The wizard recognizes the iAUDIO 4 in Recovery Mode, and brings up the firmware update window on the screen.

8. Click 'Start' to begin installation. Updating firmware will format the iAUDIO 4 and erase all data, so make sure to back up all your data before update.

9. Press 'Close' to finish update.

10. Disconnect the iAUDIO 4 from the PC, and confirm the new firmware is updated from the information section in the menu.
