COMPUTER SHOPPER Magazine Review
Despite its svelte, 3.3-by-1.4-by-0.6-inch size and light, 1.9-ounce weight (with the battery installed), the CW200 is remarkably rugged. During testing, we dropped the device onto the cement a number of times, but it suffered no damage, thanks to its solid construction and USB-port cover.

Tiny MP3 Player Packs Massive Audio, Features
With an excellent 95dB signal-to-noise ratio, the iAudio demonstrated clean, rich sound quality that packs a considerably loud volume punch. It doesn't have a rechargeable battery, but It lasted for a pleasing 10 to 12 hours on a single AAA battery. Files transfer over USB at a brisk 0.76MB per second, and we consistently filled the 128MB player in less than 3 minutes.

Cowon iAUDIO CW200
Besides four EQ presets, the CW200 sports the most customizable sound options of any player to date, allowing you to tweak settings for bass, treble, loudness, and dynamic bass on a scale of 0 through 8, Sure, three of the user-defined variables control bass, but that's the frequency that most people like to add to their music.

If you want clean, rich sound quality, the CW200 has your number: A 95dB signal-to-noise ratio, which is a better spec than that of almost any other flash-based player we've tested.

I think that the CW200 is a great little player. It is a perfect size, has good sound and extra features that make it more attractive than most players in the same price range. If only it had an SD slot... Oh well, I guess you can't have everything!

Voice recorder and FM radio gives evolution to MP3 player
Korean device launched in Brazil combines all these features efficiently.
That was a long time till the portable MP3 players do more than to play MP3. The evolution comes in devices like iAUDIO, from the Korean company Cowon. Tested by us, the device did very well in versatility.
The device is a 3-in-1. Play MP3, records voice and tunes FM. It is discreet and allows recording of meetings, interviews and classes...
... Its jog control, that can be scrolled and pushed at the same time, combines several features. ...
... in User mode, it's possible to set Bass, Treble, Loudness and Dynamic Bass...
... iAUDIO works with a single AAA Battery and is connected through USB port...

The 128MB iAudio CW-200 is what I carry in my pocket every day. Its got enough memory for more than enough music, & being able to switch to decent-sounding FM radio means that I keep on listening when I tire of the pre-recorded stuff. The plastic case is durable, attractive, creak-free and well-formed for my hand or my pocket (it even fits in the teeny 'swiss army knife' pocket in my jeans).

This was where the player excelled the most. I put several high quality Mp3's which all had a bit rate of 192kbps. I listened to them on the player and the sound quality was amazing! The treble and bass of the player was very rich and clear. I have tried listening to other mp3 players and I thought the sound quality on this unit was better than most others.

FEATHER-WEIGHT PLAYER
iAUDIO MP3 Player from Cowon Systems fits in the pocket, weighs 40 grams, and plays excellent. It stores 128MB of music (about two hours), tunes FM Radio and has a full-featured equalizer. In display, the names of the songs and the artists, or FM station are shown. A USB cable transfers files from computer to this cutie. |
